Where product strategy meets engineering execution
Bridge the gap between product strategy and execution teams. Our airfocus and Azure DevOps integration keeps product teams and engineering in sync. No status meetings required.
Stop switching tools and chasing status updates. The airfocus + Azure DevOps integration connects the "why" with the "how" automatically.
Strategy meets execution
Connect high-level product goals in airfocus with the day-to-day work items your engineering team manages in Azure DevOps. Every sprint ties back to a strategic objective.
End-to-end visibility
Track the status of features and ADO work items within the context of your epics and initiatives in airfocus. See progress from strategy to ship, without switching tools.
Smarter engineering decisions
Give your developers the context they need around business priorities, impact, and value. When engineering understands the "why," they build the right things first.
How does airfocus integration with ADO work?
Set up in minutes. Stay in sync forever. Choose exactly how your two systems talk to each other. Azure DevOps is where products get built. airfocus is where strategy, prioritisation, and roadmapping happen. Together, they give every team exactly what they need.
Import from ADO to airfocus
Import Azure DevOps issues, epics, and tasks into airfocus. Use ADO's item search to find exactly what you need, and keep everything synced so your product managers can prioritise and roadmap without touching ADO.
Push information from airfocus to ADO
Push prioritised airfocus items directly into Azure DevOps as issues, epics, or tasks. Engineering picks them up in their existing workflow - no process change required.
Keep both systems current
Choose bidirectional sync to keep fields like dates, titles, lanes, and labels updated in both directions. Or set ADO descriptions to read-only in airfocus - it's your call.
Your rules, your structure with flexible mapping
Map ADO states to airfocus lanes, filter by project and area, and configure multiple ADO projects to a single airfocus workspace. The integration adapts to how you already work.
Advanced frameworks (WSJF, RICE, Value vs. Effort).

airfocus has given us the confidence to take bold steps forward. It's not just about improving processes - it's about transforming how we work together as a global organization.

When you enter a new place as a leader, part of your job is taking stock of what's working and what's not working, and finding new processes and efficiencies for the latter - airfocus let me tidy so quickly, Now we have a strategic roadmap that we're enacting in six months. It freed me up.

I think if the Azure DevOps integration hadn't been available, we wouldn't have chosen airfocus, because we didn't want to do the job twice.

I think my favorite thing about airfocus is the complete transparency, not just for myself and across my own products, but across the developer teams, management, sales, and the rest of our company who have interest in those features.

FAQs
Is airfocus a replacement for ADO?
No. ADO is built for execution - it's where the actual product “building” happens. airfocus is built for product strategy - it's where the “why” and “when” is captured. Both platforms serve different needs and are most powerful when stacked together.
What is the Azure DevOps integration with airfocus?
The Azure DevOps integration connects your airfocus workspace to Azure DevOps, allowing you to sync items between the two platforms and keep your product roadmap aligned with development work.
How do I connect airfocus to Azure DevOps?
Navigate to Settings > Integrations in airfocus, select Azure DevOps, enter your organization name and Personal Access Token (PAT) from Azure DevOps, then authorize the connection and select your workspace.
What permissions does my Azure DevOps Personal Access Token need?
Your PAT needs read and write access to work items. The integration will have the same permissions as the user who created the token.
Can I connect airfocus to multiple Azure DevOps projects?
Yes, once you connect your Azure DevOps workspace to airfocus, you can push or link items to any project within that workspace.
What happens to my existing Azure DevOps data when I use this integration?
The integration only creates new work items, updates hyperlinks, and adds comments without deleting or overwriting your existing data.
Does the integration work with on-premise Azure DevOps Server?
Yes, but you must whitelist airfocus IP addresses and ensure port 443 is open for webhook communication between airfocus and your on-premise server.
What can I sync between airfocus and Azure DevOps?
You can push airfocus items as work items to Azure DevOps, link existing work items to airfocus items, and sync updates bidirectionally to keep both platforms aligned.
Can I disconnect the Azure DevOps integration at any time?
Yes, you can disconnect the integration at any time from Settings > Integrations. This will stop syncing between airfocus and Azure DevOps without affecting your existing data.
