There’s a lot to gain from simply attending product management events, but you want to ensure you get the most bang for your buck. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your product management conference experience.
Let your goals (or OKRs) guide you: Use your goals to pick which talks to attend, who you want to network with, and which learning experiences you want to visit.
Choose the right events: Based on the needs of your products, skill gaps, target customers, and anything that could benefit your teams.
Going in with a plan is essential: Large events like this can be very overwhelming if you’re unprepared. Whether it’s your first conference or your tenth, it’s good to have a plan so you don’t waste time figuring out where to go or what to do. This plan should include your schedule and anyone you’d like to follow up with after it’s over.
Make sure to actively participate: You can learn a lot from simply attending, but you’ll find that more will stick with you if you get involved. Plus you’ll have much more fun!
Don’t forget to take notes: There’s so much happening in such a short time that you’ll struggle to remember everything if you don’t jot some of it down.
Of course, you can attend only so many product management conferences in one year. To stay up to date with everything going on in the world of product management.
